The Eagle Has Landed!

Hi everyone,

You might be wondering what the funny blog title might be about.

Allow me to explain.

C.J. Mahaney, a pastor at Sovereign Grace Ministries, has started up a blog! This man is one of the godliest preachers I have ever heard in my short span of life, and please believe me when I say that when this dude has started a blog, it is GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!! I have no doubt that he will use his blog to the best of his abilities to encourage us to keep our eyes in sight of Calvary!

Therefore, I highly encourage you all to head on over to his blog! Go on, shoo!

Friday Funnies

Hi everyone,
Sorry about not posting much this week - I do admit that I was being a little lazy. But that's the beauty of a having a blog. You can write whenever you want! : ) Of course, that doesn't mean it's a good idea to just not post for a while. People might start to think you've taken a really long vacation, been arrested for walking outside without your shoes, or just given up on the blog altogether!

I'm glad to say that I've done none of that, and that, God willing, I'll continue to blog until something comes up that requires me to shut down the blog. I really hope that would never happen, but if it would be God's will that it should, I'd be fine with that.

Alright, Friday Funny. This is one that's come from my own life. In fact, it happened today!

During lunchtime, a guy in my class was asking another guy trivia questions. One of the questions he asked was, "In the movie, Gladiator, what was the name of Maximus' brother?"

I answered, "Minimus?"

Friday Funnies

Hi everyone,

Well..........I guess you wouldn't call it a Friday Funny, since today is Saturday, but oh well! Here it is:

It's Snowing!

Hi everyone,

A few hours ago, I got off school because it was snowing! Some say it's going to be 3-6 inches, others 1-2 inches then ice, I don't know. I'm just glad that it's snowing, and that we might get school off tomorrow! : )

Since it's snowing, I'm going to put up a thing on how to make Snow Cream:

Ingredients:

Snow

1 or 2 cups of whole or evaporated milk

1 or 2 tsp. of vanilla extract

1/2 to 1 cup of sugar

1.Bring the mixing bowl of fresh snow in to the kitchen.

2.Quickly stir in enough milk to get the consistency of ice cream, start with a little and keep adding until it is creamy. Don't worry if you accidentally add too much. Just go scoop up some more snow!

3. When you get the consistency you want, stir in the vanilla and sugar. Have fun trying different flavors like maple extract, peppermint, or root-beer.

4. Eat the snow!

I haven't tried this myself yet, but it looks yummy. I might give it a shot, if my mom lets me!

The Huckabee Plan

Hi everyone,

You've probably seen the "Huck's Army," sticker on my blog, and wondered, "Is she voting for Huckabee?" Well, sadly, I can't vote yet, but you can bet your bottom dollar that I'm rooting for him!

While checking out a Huckabee support site, run by Brett and Alex Harris, I stumbled upon an article by another blogger who wrote why he supports Huckabee. Here is the link to it if you want to check it out.

A Good Time Was Had By All

Hi everyone,
Yesterday was my first High School Banquet!!!!!!!! It's probably the only prom I'll ever have, because at my school, we don't have one. But it was FUN!!!!!!
To start, everyone arrived dressed formally (this was a semi-formal affair). Girls dressed in flowing, bright-colored gowns or party dresses, and the boys were wearing dapper tuxedos. The dinner was delicious, as well as dessert (cheesecake......mmmm).
The banquet, of course, wasn't uneventful in the least. After engaging in pleasant conversation and eating, each table was given a sheet of trivia questions, in which the winner would be given an extraordinary prize. Who would have thought that the largest American city in terms of square miles was Juneau, Alaska?
After a table had won, all the kids at that table were supposed to go to the front, where they faced off against each other in a series of questions. It was then revealed that the winner would get a free trip to Mexico in time for the Mexico mission's trip!!!!!!!!!!
After much dueling between two girls (who, I might say, were very good at geography, etc.), one girl won. The happy girl will be attending the next missions' trip to Mexico, free of charge.
To finish off the evening, the winners of the 10:31 Award were chosen. The 10:31 Award is an award for two youths, a guy and a girl, who have shown that they have a good faith and relationship with Jesus Christ. There were films showing why these two chosen were worthy of a such a wonderful award. I can't disclose the names, due to Internet privacy, but let me assure you that they were very worthy of it!
A good time was had by all, and I'm grateful to God that I got to see it all unfold before my very eyes. I'm thankful that I can go to such a wonderful parent-driven youth ministry! I'm thankful that I can go to a church where I am encouraged to love God and grow in the Gospel! Thank you Jesus Christ!

Pray for Miss Shannon

Hi everyone,

I am trying out a new font color, so do not adjust your computer screen!

Another blogger on the blogosphere, Miss Shannon from Rocks In My Dryer, has announced that she is going with Compassion International to Uganda, Africa, and is going to write about the poverty there. She's going to blog about it very step of the way! Also, it would be much appreciated if you could travel over to the blog and offer her words of encouragement. Thanks a bunch, guys! We need to put Miss Shannon in our prayers, so that she may have a safe journey, a safe time in Africa, and that God will tell her His will.

Thanks, everyone!

Friday Funnies

Hi everyone,

How DO the Girltalkers DO IT? I'm running out of Friday Funny jokes!!!! AAAAHHH!!!!

But fear not, fellow bloggers and blog surfers! Instead, I will put up funny movie quotes, funny pictures, and more jokes if I can find them. Today, I'm going to put up a movie quote:

"Well I... Well I thought she was a sandwich, 'til she went spare on me finger."

(That means she bit his finger.)

Happy New Year!

Hi everyone,

Wow, can you believe it? It's 2008! Call me a sentimentalist, but I think it's really neat that we've lived through the turn of the century (at least, those who are 10 years old and up), and that by now, a child who was born at the turn of the century is now seven years old (I only know one turn-of-the-century kid, though).

What's beautiful about the New Year, though, is that we get a chance to start anew. We can ditch the habit of eating too much junk food, smoking, or other bad things. It's like getting a second chance.

This resembles God's forgiveness of our sins through His Son, Jesus Christ. Because Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, every time we do something wrong, we can always ask God for forgiveness and we'll always be forgiven.

That is not to say, however, that we can do something nasty and say, "Oh, sorry, God!" then go back to whatever sinful thing we're doing. When we ask God for forgiveness, we need to be determined to end whatever bad practice we were doing right then and there. It might be easy, it might not, but God will grant us the grace we need in order to subdue it.

Isn't that a wonderful thing?
