Happy Leap Day!

Hi everyone,

Happy Leap Day! Today is February 29th, which makes this year 366 days long instead of 365 days long. I am taking advantage of the opportunity to blog on a day that won't come again for FOUR YEARS!!!!!! How cool is that?
I would like to wish a happy birthday to everyone who has a birthday on a leap year day. As a present to you, here is a very cool youtube video:

Here is also a quote for today by J. Sidlow Baxter:

'Fundamentally, our Lord’s message was Himself. He did not come merely to preach a Gospel; He Himself is that Gospel. He did not come merely to give bread; He said, “I am the Bread.” He did not come merely to shed light; He said, “I am the Light.” He did not come merely to show the door; He said, “I am the Door.” He did not come merely to name a shepherd; He said, “I am the Shepherd.” He did not come merely to point the way; He said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”'

Joy

"Joy in God is the happiest of all joys. There are other sweets, but this is the virgin honey dripping fresh from the comb. Joy in God is also a most elevating joy. Those who joy in wealth grow avaricious. Those who joy in their friends too often lose nobility of spirit. But he who boasts in God grows like God. It is a solid joy, and he who joys in God has good reasons for rejoicing. He has arguments which will justify His joy at any time. It is an abiding joy. In a word, it is celestial joy."

The World's Most Adorable Dog

Hi everyone,

I'll tell you honestly that I've found a picture of the cutest dog I have EVER seen!

Isn't he CUTE?!!!!!!!!!! I wish I could take him home with me! (I think the owner would object, though.) ; ) The cute little puppy's name is Charlie. You can find more pictures on the Pioneer Woman's blog.

Sigh. He reminds of my late dog, Petunia, a.k.a. Nana. Bassets rock. Who can resist those sad eyes, those floppy jowls, that puppy face! Perhaps if everyone in the world had bassets, there might be a chance of world peace.

Then again, maybe not. Peace is a very fragile thing, you know. There one moment and gone the next! ; ) Fortunately, Jesus Christ will bring eternal peace when He comes back. : )

Happy Valentine's Day

Hi everyone,

Happy Valentine's Day! While sometimes I think this holiday had wandered away from its' true meaning (you know, stores having sales on chocolates, etc.), it's also a beautiful day to just tell the people you love that you love them. Isn't that sweet?

It can be hard for some people on Valentine's Day, because they don't have a Valentine, didn't get a Valentine's Day card, or maybe has a family that lives far away. That's okay, though, because even though it might seem like you're the only one without a Valentine in the world, remember that the God, the King of the Universe, who created the earth, the seas, the stars, and the sky, and everything in this world, loves you to infinity, enough to send His Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins. When you think of it that way, a little heart-shaped card that says, "I Love You," pales in comparison. Isn't that neat?

In honor of Valentine's Day, I found a beautiful poem by Robert Burns. I think it's very pretty:

A Red, Red Rose

O my Luve's like a red, red rose,
That's newly sprung in June:
O my Luve's like the melodie,
That's sweetly play'd in tune.

As fair art thou, my bonie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry.

Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o' life shall run.

And fare-thee-weel, my only Luve!
And fare-thee-weel, a while!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho' 'twere ten thousand mile!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Daily Quotes

Hi everyone,
I am going to start putting up quotes from reknown theologians such as Charles Spurgeon, John Piper, C.J. Mahaney, and etc. I feel that their quotes will be more spiritually helpful to you than anything I could say, and not only that, but what they say is true!
I hope you will enjoy these quotes as much as I will!
"No child of God sins to that degree as to make himself incapable of forgiveness."

John Bunyan

Friday Funnies

Hi everyone,

To begin, I am happy to say that I got a snow day! Actually, it didn't snow, but there were enough slick roads and accidents that the county decided to close all the schools, including private ones. I had a busy day doing chores and baking cookies for a hungry younger bro!

Now for the Friday Funnies! I found a cute picture of this little creature!

The title above it was: "is the paper always this boring?" I thought it was so cute! I hope you do too! Isn't it incredible how God makes animals so funny?
